Lesson Schedule:
Piano lessons are 30 min, once a week. Little Tikes Preschool lessons are biweekly (twice a month). I have reserved space for you or your student(s) with the understanding that we will have a lesson each week at that time. Later in the year, if a permanent conflict arises with this lesson time (i.e. sports, family shift, etc), please feel free to contact me to discuss alternate arrangements. I am happy to work with you to ensure a weekly lesson time that complements both of our schedules.
HOLIDAYS & BREAKS:
My schedule mirrors the Jeff Davis School System calendar. We will not have lessons over Thanksgiving, Christmas or Spring Break. Additionally, we will not have lessons during the months of June & July to observe summer break (you will not be billed for lessons during the summer months).
Lesson Payment & Registration Fees:
Piano Tuition is $172 per month ($52 per 30 min lesson, spread out evenly throughout the entire year), after an initial $50 registration fee. All Little Tikes are $50 per month ($25 per lesson with a guaranteed 2 lessons a month), after a $25 registration fee. Preferred method of payment is cash app ($kellysmusicschool) or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover) and will be automatically billed on the first calendar day of each month. Any credit card issues must be resolved by the 5th of the month. Payment is due on the 15th of each month. If payment is not received by the 15th, there will be an additional $25 late fee and student attendance will be suspended until all fees are paid. I will also accept cash or check, however there will be an added fee of $30 for bounced checks.
** You will be charged the registration fee at the beginning of every school year. These fees help pay for equipment updates, recital and party facilities, mymusicstaff dashboard fees, etc.
Missed Lesson Policy:
PIANO STUDENTS:
You may have up to 3 makeup credits issued per semester (due to sickness, travel, forgetfulness, etc). At the end of the first semester (December) these credits will reset back to 0. I will have makeup spots scheduled in the dashboard calendar, which will allow you to go in and register for these. For my athletes who may have a game scheduled during your lesson time, communicate ahead of time with me and we'll work it out. If I have to cancel your lesson on my end, you will receive a makeup credit regardless of how many you have in your account.
LITTLE TIKE STUDENTS:
Because this class is grouped based, makeups are a little different. You will be given a maximum of 2 makeup credits per semester. At the end of each semester (December and May) I will have 2 group makeup lessons that will be available for signups in in dashboard.
*** Kelly's Music School is under no obligation to provide refunds or make-up lessons for missed or skipped lessons unless that lesson was cancelled by the teacher.
If the need arises to discontinue piano lessons, please let me know at least a week before the next billable month. Please understand this is my full time job, therefore no refunds will be given.
Attendance:
Students are expected to arrive punctually with all necessary materials to their weekly scheduled lesson.
Students who are more than 15 minutes late for a lesson cannot be guaranteed their lesson time.
If a student is running late or is unable to make it to their scheduled lesson, please call or text to let Mrs. Kelly know.
Books and Materials:
Students are required to purchase instructional materials to use at home. Regardless of the student’s age or experience, practicing at home using their lesson books dramatically increases his or her results and playing satisfaction. Materials are available to purchase on Amazon, using the link provided by your teacher. Any additional performing materials will be provided by or purchased by the teacher.
Parent Involvement:
Lessons will be given in house, with a comfortable waiting area for parents who would like to stay. I encourage parents to promote a healthy practice schedule during the week, to make the most of these lessons.
Hygiene:
All students must wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water before their piano lesson. Fingernails must be kept short and clean. Open sores or contagious skin conditions must be covered at all times during lessons. Please do not come to lessons if you or your immediate family are sick and may be contagious – it is easy for germs and sickness to spread quickly throughout my house.
Photo/Video Release:
Unless requested in writing, Kelly's Music Studio is granted permission to take photographs/videos of the students to use in brochures, websites, posters, advertisements, newsletters, social media and other promotional materials Kelly's Music Studio creates. Permission is also hereby granted for Kelly's Music Studio to copyright such photographs in its name.
